The name of this accommodation is due to Queen Santa Isabel, who, according to legend, in devotion to Santa Clara, dedicated a lot of time to making golden curtains that, years later, burned completely. Faced with this irreparable loss, the Poor Clares of Vila do Conde, during several weeks of unhappiness and prayer, tried unsuccessfully to replicate the embroidery. However, after the passage of a pilgrim from Coimbra, a package with a pleasant aroma was left for the nuns. Miraculously, on the date marking the Day of Santa Clara, they discovered inside the package golden curtains identical to those that had been lost in the fire.
Just like in this extraordinary event, this place promises a miracle of regeneration enveloped in an aura of serenity and peace, where Guests can enjoy a peaceful night worthy of kings in the room’s two beds.
